Title
Pilgrimage to Mount Kailash Tibet
Artist
Wicki Van De Veer
Medium
Painting - Oil On Canvas
Description
Mout Kailash is sacred to Hindus, Buddhists and followers of the Bon religion. It is considered to be the axis of the world, the abode of the gods, home of Shiva. The journey to the mountain is very difficult and the performance of the kora or parikama (walking around the mountain) involves crossing a pass at over 19,000 feet. It is a journey that cleanses, allows a spiritual rebirth and cleanses the karmis debts of a lifetime. There is no way to describe the beauty of this mountain in a few words. I hope the painting brings some of it to you.

I just love this image, Wicki. It really touches my heart deeply. The preciousness of the pilgrims' intent, and how small and humble they look on this sacred journey to enrich their soul. LF+++

Thank you Djana. It was amazing to have the privilege to be there and to do a pilgrimage around sacred Mount Kailash. Being able to share that experience through painting is a joy and a gift. Aloha from Kauai, Hawaii...Wicki
